Admissions Requirements
º£½ÇÖ±²¥ welcomes beginning freshmen who are prepared to contribute to the University’s goals of academic excellence and those who want to work to become who they want to be. As a test-optional institution, you can decide whether to submit ACT/SAT scores with your college application.
Tier 1
Applicants who have earned a diploma from any high school or GED certificate and who meet the requirements in the sliding scale below will be fully admitted.

Applicants who do not meet regular admission requirements may be admitted to ASU’s Tier II or Tier III Summer Bridge Program. This intensive six-week program is designed to assist incoming freshmen in building the foundation for a successful transition from high school to college.

Enrollment Checklist
- Complete FAFSA online (ASU School Code: 001005) beginning October 1
- Apply for on-campus housing
- Register for new student orientation
- Submit Health Evaluation Form
- Apply for ASU Scholarships October 1 – February 15
- Request final high school transcript be mailed to: P.O. Box 271 Montgomery, AL 36104
ADVANCED PLACEMENT
If you score a 3, 4 or 5 on Advanced Placement (AP) exams and you have a minimum GPA of 3.0, you may qualify for course credit or advanced placement. To be considered, send all AP test scores to the Office of Admissions & Recruitment along with all required application documents.
SPECIAL ADMISSIONS
If you’re interested in taking classes at ASU but don’t want to get your degree, you can apply for admission as a special student. To do so, you must:
- Complete the online application for undergraduate admission.
- Send all of the following to the Office of Admissions & Recruitment:

- Completed Undergraduate Special Student Classification Form
