DUAL ENROLLMENT


It is a great time to be Dual Enrolled. 

Dual enrollment allows high school students to earn college credits while still being enrolled in high school. Dual enrollment also provides students with the opportunity to build academic confidence. Any eligible student may obtain dual enrollment credit at 海角直播. However, dual credit (students earn both high school and college credit simultaneously) is restricted to high schools that have a signed agreement with 海角直播.

  • 海角直播 are considered ASU students and allowed access to all services.
  • Dual enrollment courses enrich academic experiences for high school students.
  • Dual enrollment students avoid unnecessary duplication of course work.
  • Dual enrollment shorten the time to attain a college degree.

What are the requirements for participation?

  • You must have completed your freshman year of high school;
  • You must have a high school GPA of 2.5 or above;
  • Admission will be considered without a test score on file, although some courses ( English and Math) have minimum test score requirements;
  • You must have permission from your high school and your parent or guardian.

What are the admission requirements?

Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors who apply to participate in the Dual Enrollment program at 海角直播 must have:

  • A cumulative grade point average of 2.5
  • The student must earn the required test scores for Math and English courses only to remain in the program for the subsequent semester.
  • If taking Math 136 or 137, applicants must have earned an 18 on the ACT scores and mathematics sub-score of 16 or greater or earned a 940 on the SAT scores and sub-score of 450.
  • If taking English 131 or 132, applicants must have earned an 18 on the ACT scores and English sub-score of 16 or greater or earned a 940 on the SAT scores and sub-score of 450.
  • 海角直播 who have not taken the ACT/SAT/ACCUPLACER  scores are allowed to take general education courses that do not require test placement scores.
  • No remedial courses will be offered.

When may students apply?

Return the completed Dual Enrollment Application Packet with all of the required documents, no later than November 30 for spring enrollment and April 30  for summer and fall enrollment.

海角直播 must meet the minimum dual enrollment admissions criteria and must complete an application packet that requires a letter of recommendation from the principal or guidance counselor, and parental permission. 

Returning 海角直播

Returning students must complete the Dual Enrollment Intent to Return Form. 

It is important to begin the enrollment process early in order to be ready for the start of the college academic semester. Late applicants will not be accepted.

海角直播 who enroll in classes at ASU must adhere to the academic calendar established for on- campus enrollment. This includes the dates for adding, dropping or withdrawing from a class.


How much is each course?

Scholarships are available; please ask the Dual Enrollment Coordinator how to apply.

Dual enrollment fees are not eligible for tuition waivers for ASU employees.

What steps do I take to apply to participate?

  • Talk with your parents and your high school counselor about Dual Enrollment;
  • Complete the online Dual Enrollment Application
  • Have your counselor submit your official high school transcripts and ACT/SAT scores to ASU.

Please note: most general education courses are offered to Dual Enrollment 海角直播; however, students will have opportunities to take more specialized courses such as physics, chemistry, or business as departments are able to offer them. See below.

What steps do I take to apply to participate?

Step 1:  Submit completed Dual Enrollment Application

路       Dual Enrollment

路       A signed endorsement clause to be completed by a core teacher

路       Counselor and/or principal recommendation

Step 2:  Submit High School Transcript

路        Copy of HS transcript must come from HS Counselor. 

路       Official copies are not required when submitted by HS counselor. 

路       Email copies are acceptable. 

 

Step 3:  Provide ACT Scores / Take Placement Test

路        ACT scores may be required for students wanting to take General Education courses.

路       The Accuplacer Placement Test can be taken in lieu of ACT scores to enroll in English or math courses. 海角直播 must first apply to the College before taking the test. For more information about the Accuplacer or to schedule an appointment for testing, please email . 

 

Step 4: 

路       Attend Dual Enrollment Orientation

路       Participate in Canvas training.
